2017-2018 Scholarship Information

Scholarships available outside of the community

These scholarships are both State of Wisconsin and nationally available scholarships. They all have different types of applications, requirements, and deadlines. Please pay close attention to all three things. More will be added as they become available.

1. The Hagan Foundation Scholarship

A need based scholarship for rural community graduating seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The recipient must complete the FAFSA and have EFT of $6,500 or less on the SAR. Apply to www.hsfmo.org

Deadline for this scholarship is November 15th, 2017.

2. Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Club (AWSC)

You or your parent(s) must be a member of the AWSC. Apply at www.awsc.org

Deadline is January 1st, 2018

3. American Legion Auxiliary Children of Warriors National

President’s Scholarship Applicants must be a son/daughter, grandson/granddaughter, great-grandson/great-granddaughter of a veteran who has served from WWI to present. You must have a copy of honorable discharge paperwork for the veteran. Applicant must also have 50 hours of community service during high school. Deadline for this scholarship is March 1st, 2018.

4. American Legion Auxiliary General Application

Applicants must be a child/step child, grandchild/step grandchild or great-grandchild/step great-grandchild of a veteran from WWI to present. You must have a copy of honorable discharge paperwork for the veteran. There are several scholarships available for this application.

Deadline for this scholarship is March 15th, 2018.

5. American Legion Scholarship Applications

There are several scholarships available with this application with different deadlines for each scholarship. Go to www.wilegion.org to apply.

6. National Elks Foundation Scholarship

Criteria for this scholarship looks at academics, leadership, and financial need. You must complete the FAFSA form. Go to www.elks.org/scholar to apply.

Deadline for this scholarship is November 27th, 2017

7. Safari International Sables Scholarship

Applicants must plan to pursue a degree in the natural resources area or environmental studies/education arena.

8. Herb Kohl Excellence/Trades Scholarship

Applicants may be pursuing a post-secondary education at a trade school or a 2/4 yr. college or university. Go to www.kohleducation.org to apply.

Deadline for this application is January 1st, 2018

9. Northeast Technical College Promise Scholarship

This is a need based scholarship for graduating seniors who plan to attend NWTC the fall of 2018. Applicants must complete the FAFSA and have applied to NWTC to be considered. Go to www.nwtc.edu/Promise to apply.

Deadline to apply is April 1st, 2018

10. ACT Student Champion Scholarship

Available to graduating seniors who have a 3.0 GPA and a 22 composite score on their ACT. An essay able what kind of challenges the applicant may have overcome and what their college and career goals are/how they plan to achieve these goals is required. Go to www.act.org/readinesschampions

Deadline to apply is December 31st, 2017

11. Wisconsin Title I Association Scholarship

Available to graduating seniors who plan to pursue a degree at a Tech/Trade School or a 4 yr. possibly up through high school. This could mean extra help in reading, math, writing. Things that you struggled with academically and you received help during school.

Applications are available in Mrs. Veirauch’s office.

Deadline to apply is February 1st, 2018

12. Wisconsin Education Association Council Scholarship

Available to graduating seniors whose parent(s) are a member of the Wisconsin Education Association (WEAC). The applicant must be in the top 25% of their class or have a 3.0 or better GPA. The applicant must be pursuing a degree in education either as a major or minor and plans to teach in Wisconsin.

13. The Herb Kohl Student Excellence Scholarship

For a graduating senior who plans to attend a Trade/Technical school or 4 yr. college/university. The applicant will be evaluated on their leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement, and academic achievement.

14. Wisconsin Professional Police Association

Awarded to a graduating senior who plans to pursue a course of study in police science, criminal justice, or a law enforcement related field. This student may attend either a 2 or 4 yr. program.

Scholarship applications are available in Mrs. Veirauch’s office.

You must provide a typewritten essay (200 words or less) outlining why you have chosen a law enforcement career. You must also include three (3) letters of recommendations and a high school transcript.

Deadline for this scholarship is February 1st, 2018.

15. Forest County Potawatomi Community Foundation Lois

Crowe Scholarship For a graduating senior of Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine School District who has applied and been accepted to a Wisconsin 4 yr. accredited college. You DO NOT have to be Native American to receive this award. You must have a 2.5 GPA, have a history of academic achievement, have participated in extra-curricular activities in or out of high school, and have participated in some type of community service.

16. Forest County Potawatomi Community Foundation Delores

Pemma Scholarship For a graduating senior of Beecher-Dunbar-Pembine School District who has applied and been accepted to an accredited Wisconsin technical college or 2 yr. college. You DO NOT have to be Native American to receive this award. You must have a 2.25 GPA and have demonstrated leadership in some way.

17. Better Business Foundation Students of Integrity Scholarship

For a graduating senior who has demonstrated character, leadership, and ethical values. There are 10 scholarships in the amount of $2500.00 each available to Wisconsin high school seniors. You must have a 3.0 GPA or show consistent GPA improvement over time and plan to attend an accredited 2 yr. or 4 yr. Wisconsin institution.

18. Packerland Broadband Technology Scholarship

This scholarship is for a graduation senior who plans to pursue a degree at an accredited 2 yr. or 4 yr. college/technical college in the area of computer technology—Computer Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, etc... You must have a minimum GPA of 2.50, provide examples of community service, and submit an essay regarding your future plans and what you hope to achieve.
